1830 - Wednesday 21st April, 2010: The Irish Aviation Authority confirms that Irish airspace and airports are open, and have been operating throughout the day, however, a return to normal operations by airlines will take a number of days.
Passengers should consult airline websites before travelling to the airport for flights. The IAA has no information regarding any individual flights.
The IAA will make a statement if any volcanic ash threat to Irish airspace emerges today, or in the coming days.
